Shantae: Half-Genie Hero gets its "Ultimate Edition"!

WayForward is finally releasing "Shantae: Half-Genie Hero - Ultimate Edition"!

  So, for those who missed this platformer(with some Metroidvania elements) gem, you'll get in this complete package all of the previously released DLC(all heroes, modes, and costumes), and also a few goodies, like a new blue bathing buit costume, which you can use in Beach Mode! (okay, not that exciting, but I admit, our favorite purple-haired Arabic girl looks good in the trailer with that new bathing suit!😊)

Well, that's one big collection.😲
  Although I miss the pixel art of the first games(and you know how Wayforward is incredible when it comes to make great pixel art), this one might be my favorite.
Besides the super cool addition of transformations, the high-definition anime-like graphic style is lovely, and despite being more simple than the previous games(in my opinion), the perfect controls make this platformer one of the best indie games you can find on PC.

Although the game was already perfect(again, just my opinion..lol) at launch, WayForward did its best and added lots of new modes and expansions, with new characters, all offering us new playstyles as well!
The game improved more than I ever expected.

  As much as I love metroidvania games, it's possible that being a straight platformer was a better choice after all for the Shantae universe, don't you think?
There were too much back and forth in the previous games, but now, I think this game is perfect.

The first 3 games were traditional Metroidvania experience, but this one has a simpler level system, although using some Metroidvania elements. For example, once you acquire new powers in later levels, you can replay previous levels and explore new areas to acquire extra power-ups and various bonuses. I find it very cool, very... old-cool, in a good way. lol
I remember Quackshot on Megadrive(1991😍) was a bit like that.
(Yes, I like very old references. lol The game hasn't aged one bit though.👍)

On the other hand, I'm not sure if there's much else to add to the Shantae universe now...

I wonder what will be their next game...
Hey, who knows, maybe they'll turn "the Mummy Demastered-Remastered"  joke into a real thing...?😉
